Karli B. Guyther
Karli graduated from The University of Alabama, summa cum laude, with her BS in Marketing with a specialization in International Business, as well as her BA in Public Relations with a Spanish minor. In May 2019, she graduated again from UA with a Juris Doctorate and Master of Business Administration. She also completed certificates in Public Interest Law and International and Comparative Law.
As an attorney, Karli began her career practicing employment litigation, representing plaintiffs who had been adversely impacted in the workplace through an employer’s illegal discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, sexual harassment, and more. Karli has also practiced in transactional roles, providing general counsel to businesses and individuals across a variety of industries, primarily with respect to commercial contracts, governance, formation and organization, landlord/tenant disputes, commercial real estate, HOA disputes and transactions involving the purchase and sale of a business. Further, Karli has acted as in-house counsel for a family care home in the Triangle, as well as negotiated various physician contracts and other healthcare related legal issues.
Karli has also continued doing business and creative consulting for small businesses, nonprofits and individuals as well. As the Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator for the University of Alabama’s Career Center at Culverhouse, Karli was responsible for creating all student facing marketing materials that were published to the thousands of students in the public university’s business school from 2016-2019. According to Karli’s supervisor, “With little direction, Karli turned a part-time graduate assistantship into a high impact position that enriched the quality of outreach and operations for the Career Center at Culverhouse….She was always dependable, reliable, hardworking, and conscientious. She was always willing to go the extra mile and showed a sincere concern for others.” - Susan Cowles via LinkedIn.
Karli has continued her creative endeavors both as an independent contractor for small businesses and volunteering with nonprofits, such as through her role as the the Public Relations Chair for the Woman Lawyer’s Section of the Birmingham Bar Association in 2021-2022. In that role, Karli created all of the social media for the section’s social and community service events for the year, as well as designed a coffee mug for sale to raise money for the organization.
